Bronwyn Ann Doherty

Bronwyn's creative adventures began in the 70's

It is then that she graduated from the National Art School and also from Teacher’s College. This was the emergence of a continuing career spanning over nearly fifty years. During this time Bronwyn worked as an Art Teacher but foremost as an artist.

Her art, teaching, and family led her to Brisbane, Queensland where she continues to live and practice. The nucleus of her work is painting and ceramics. Her paintings and sculptures are reflection of her relationship with the environment and also the human condition. Since her retirement from teaching and the purchase of a kiln her ceramic works have continued to evolve.

Currently the heart of her work lies in an extensive series of ceramic female figures. These figures are situated upon various forms. Experimentation with a range of glazes and clay techniques has produced a diverse collection.

Much of Bronwyn’s painted works are of a different focus, often landscapes and the charm of the bush, mangrove scenery, and the essence of nature that she has an on going affinity with.
